¿When will the new customs facility in Veracruz be inaugurated?

At a session of the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade (COMCE) Veracruz, its President Gerardo Cárdenas announced that a new customs facility at the port of Veracruz is set to play a key role in improving processing times and logistics for incoming goods.

Speaking during the 7th South-Southeast Foreign Trade Forum, held in Yucatán this year, Cárdenas underscored that while the project represents a substantial investment and will be implemented soon, the exact inauguration date remains undecided and will be set by the federal government.

The facility is planned to feature modern equipment and updated technologies, expected to cut logistical costs and processing time for trade in the region.

Cárdenas also noted that, with the upcoming Customs Law coming into effect on January 1 2026, COMCE will coordinate training for customs agents and the broader sector to adapt to the new regulations.
