COMCE to Support Mexico in USMCA Review

The Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment, and Technology (COMCE) announced that it will collaborate with the Government of Mexico during the consultation and review process of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Through the “Cuarto de Junto” mechanism, COMCE stated that it will contribute the expertise of its members in the International Section for North America to help develop proposals aimed at strengthening regional competitiveness and ensuring the continuity of the trade agreement.

COMCE emphasized that this process provides an opportunity for Mexican companies to enhance the positioning of “Made in Mexico” within North American value chains. According to COMCE’s Executive President, Sergio Contreras Pérez, this strategy can boost the domestic market, job creation, and supply chain development.

Regarding Mexico’s growth opportunities, the organization referred to Harvard University’s Economic Complexity Atlas, which estimates that the country could gain up to 123 billion dollars in global markets through advanced manufacturing products such as integrated electronic circuits, sensors, medical equipment, mobile phones, and packaged pharmaceuticals.

According to COMCE, Mexico currently has favorable conditions for advanced manufacturing exports, supported by the goal of increasing North American regional content.
