Consumer Confidence in Mexico Rises Slightly in July 2025

In July 2025, Mexico’s Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) increased by 0.43 points, reaching a level of 45.91, according to seasonally adjusted data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). This follows a decline of 1.03 points in June.

Three out of the five components of the index saw monthly improvements. The most notable was the 2.50-point increase in consumers’ perception of their current ability to purchase durable goods, following a drop in June.

The perception of households’ current economic situation compared to a year ago rose by 0.12 points to 51.80. Similarly, the perception of the country’s current economic situation improved slightly by 0.08 points, reaching 40.76.

In contrast, expectations for the future saw modest declines. The outlook for the country’s economy in 12 months fell by 0.27 points, while the expected household economic situation over the same period dropped by 0.20 points.

The Consumer Confidence Index reflects how consumers perceive their present and future economic conditions, both personally and nationally. Although the overall index posted a slight gain in July, the mixed performance among its components suggests continued caution regarding future expectations.
