Mexico’s corn imports reached an all-time high during the first half of 2026.
According to agricultural market consultancy GCMA, imports totaled 12.28 million metric tons, an 8.6% increase from the same period in 2025. Their total value rose to $2.54 billion.
Yellow corn from the United States accounted for most shipments, reaching 11.7 million metric tons. White corn imports moved in the opposite direction, falling 15.9% to 490,000 metric tons.
