Mexico’s annual inflation rate rose to 3.45% in September 2026, up from 3.26% in August, according to the country’s statistics agency, INEGI.
The Consumer Price Index increased 0.42% from the previous month. The annual figure came in slightly below the 3.47% median estimate from economists surveyed by Bloomberg.
Core inflation, which excludes some of the most volatile price categories, eased from 3.88% to 3.75% year over year.
Among the largest monthly price declines were professional services, down 16.44%, and potatoes and other tubers, down 13.92%.
Avocado prices fell 8.11%, oranges declined 5.65%, and tequila dropped 2.62%. Prices also decreased for bundled internet, phone and pay-TV services, some hair-care products, and automobiles.
These declines helped offset part of the broader increase in consumer prices during the month.
