French companies continue to show interest in expanding their presence and investment in Mexico, where nearly 700 French businesses currently operate across a broad range of industries.
According to a bilateral economic report presented at Mexico’s Economy Ministry, these companies support more than 215,000 direct formal jobs, with a strong presence in automotive, energy, information technology, and aerospace.
Trade between Mexico and France reached roughly $8 billion in 2025, up 2.5% from the previous year. Bilateral trade has grown at an average annual rate of about 6% in recent years.
Accumulated French investment in Mexico is estimated at $13.6 billion, with a significant industrial presence in states including Mexico State, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Querétaro, and Puebla.
Among French companies surveyed, 75% expect to continue expanding in Mexico over the coming years. Around 50% to 55% of these companies also source more than half of their purchases from local suppliers.
The two countries are also looking to expand business participation in infrastructure, energy, water, industrial projects, and local supply chains.
