Mexico’s exports increased 32.6% year over year in April 2026, reaching $72.04 billion, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). Growth was largely driven by stronger manufacturing and mining shipments.
Manufactured exports totaled $65.69 billion, up 34% compared with April 2025. Mining exports posted a 71% increase, while agricultural exports remained broadly stable.
Imports also expanded during the month, rising 24.1% annually to $67.52 billion. As a result, Mexico recorded a trade surplus of $4.52 billion in April.
For the first four months of 2026, the country accumulated a trade surplus of $3.51 billion, reversing the deficit reported during the same period a year earlier. The figures reflect stronger activity in manufacturing-related sectors and continued demand for Mexican-made goods in international markets.
