Users Report Problems Updating Tax Addresses in Mexico

Taxpayers in Mexico have reported difficulties updating their registered tax address through the Tax Administration Service’s online systems.

According to user reports, some applicants have encountered errors during the online process, delays in having their information updated, and cases where they were later required to visit a SAT office to complete the filing.

Updating a tax address is part of maintaining current information in Mexico’s Federal Taxpayer Registry. Depending on a taxpayer’s profile and compliance status, the process may be completed online or require an in-person appointment.

Accurate address information is also important for companies involved in foreign trade. Mexican customs rules include requirements tied to the registered tax address, and certain inconsistencies can affect an importer’s status.

The reported issues have prompted calls for improvements to the digital process so taxpayers can complete address changes with fewer additional steps.
